O, by all means, let the bleeding heart liberals spend more billions of dollars giving free university education to the illegal Mexicans. It is not like there is a shortage of money, no budget deficits or anything like that. If the Catholic church wants to give a free education to Mexicans, did it ever occur to them to go to Mexico and build a university there with their own money to educate the Mexicans? Instead they are trying to force their bleeding heart liberal policies on Americans, and take our money away from us to pay for educating foreigners.
When the Catholic church becomes involved at this level of politics, engaging in an issue that has nothing to do with sin (like abortion), I wonder how long it will be before we have a Catholic Priest shout "The Chickens have come back to roost" (if the bill passes) or g..damn America" (if the bill doesn't pass - a la Reverend Wright). The Catholic church should stay out of this one. I agree that the Catholic church should spend more time, money and political energy IN Mexico, making it a more livable country.

ReplyDeleteFirst off it is not a "Free EDUCATION"
ReplyDeleteThese are basically kids that we all know we are not going to deport. There is nothing "liberal" here
Basically we are making sure that qualified people get a education and thus will make more money and thus contribute more to society (like in taxes).
This is one reason the State invests so much in Colleges across this country. Because they know they will get far far far more in return.
Again I am talking basic economics. Usually conservatives are good on economics. Some lose their sense here though
We have many qualified people already in our society called Americans that are unable to go to college.
ReplyDeleteIn what way are "Americans" prevented from going to college because of the DREAM Act?
ReplyDeleteCertain people are so easily manipulated by telling them that another race or ethnic group is getting something "Americans" like them are not.
The DREAM Act does no such thing.
