What Jay Dardenne Must Do To Win Lt Governor Runoff

There is a very good post here at Louisiana primary results – Part I (Lt Governor’s race) looking at election night returns and what Jay must do to win.

Let me say I Fayards' (Democrat) good showing is no shock to me. I think she timed her media ads very well and they were good commercials.

Let me add some observations.

For Jay Dardenne to win he needs GOP UNITY UNITY UNITY. The Louisiana GOP cannot go into it's default Circular Firing squad mode.

To win Dardenne is going to have to garner more black vote. His 8 percent seems down from what he got in past from black boxes. However...

16% of black voters voted for a Republican, in Lt Gov race. So hope for Jay Dardenne there.

Most worried for Dardenne because of where heated elections will be taking place. In Dem Friendly Shreveport and NOLA will have higher turnout than some places.

The key for himwill be to make sure rural Jay GOP Friendly voters get to the polls. If there is no exciting local race becomes hard.

Can Fayard tap into the anti politico mood?

This is a winnable race foir sure for Jay but he has got to avoid and mitigate the above problems.

Update 1
OF COURSE THERE IS THE VITTER race that should help JAY big time. Still I do have concerns about the lack of races in rural Louisiana. Every bit helps
