This kind of story really rips at the heart of a parent...and all us parents were once 16 ourselves. Our kids don't often realize that we were. BUT, WE WERE!
What a tragedy. Two young folks with so much of life ahead...
Oh my gosh, this is just terrible! I had lost someone who worked for me and was very much a friend of mine and my daughter's. He committed suicide and I can't tell you how shocked everyone was. He was more than successful in his business (not in the least bit in debt), he wasn't dating anyone in particular, and I have no idea if he suffered from depression. If he did, he sure hid it well. He just became so overwhelmed with his business that was growing faster than he could keep up. Instead of hiring someone to take on some of the managerial or bookkeeping, he killed himself. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.
It's the devastation that is left behind which makes it more of a tragedy. I continue to pray for my friend and ask God to have mercy on his soul. He was so sweet, caring and giving...I can't imagine that he would do anything to hurt anyone intentionally...he just wasn't thinking straight.
I'll pray for this couple and for their families that were left to suffer the consequences of such a sad decision.
It was so ad. I saw ioth these kids OBITS in the paper this morning. They will be buried within hours o each other on the same day. Their OBITs seem so lacking because they had not lived much of life. So many details that should have been there if they just have have lived
Why did the families not bury them together as they wished? It was the last loving thing they could have done for those children. It is a horrible tragedy, but teenage love is the strongest, albeit immature, love around. I am not reprimanding the parents, but sometimes as parents, it is hard to not remember what it is like to be consumed with love for someone. I remember being a teen and almost being suicidal because my parents forbid me to see someone.
What a tragedy that two young people would choose this as a solution, or that they would see their problems as so unsolvable.
