How Times Have Changed (Old Best Seller On How Women Can Get Teen Age Boys!!)
It is pretty amazing how times have changed in like a DECADE!! In my younger days no woman would be arrested for this in most cases. Oh if the parents wanted her out they might send a Deputy over to say hey STAY AWAY. But Jail time? Heck there would not be a POLICE REPORT!!
Heck Dad and the Deputy and would be probably high fiving the the precious 16 year old kid while mom is not looking.
NOW IT IS JAIL TIME and lots of stuff in the press
It might be controversial to say but I think it was much better when these things were handled privately and in a more discreet fashion. NOT ENDORSING OLDER FEMALE SEX OUTSIDE MARRIAGE WITH TEENAGERS.
Just saying I think sometimes the old way of handling it was better.
The books seems to have the wording of being a guide for teenage girls but that model looks pretty old!! So I think there is more going on here.
For a review of this see Advice for Mrs. Robinson at Awful Library Books
Update- Someone in the comments WHO HAD THIS BOOK in their youth (GROOVY) said it was marketed for teenage girls. Still that model looks like in her 20's. Still pretty funny book cover. Ahh the late 60's. What did I Miss?
Update II - According to the comments that model is the famous Cheryl Tiegs
I love this comment
"Ha! I remember sneaking peaks at my sister’s copy of this book. It gave advice like, “Carry a French magazine with you. When a cute guy asked you what you were reading say ‘Eet ees a magazine from my cawntree.’"
lol
Any man who won't admit that there's not a single one of us who, at the age of 16, wouldn't have loved to have someone that looks like Cheryl Tiegs trying to get us in the sack is a liar.
ReplyDeleteBack in those days, such a thing was considered doing a kid a favor. Heck, there's even a whole genre of movies that came out in the eighties with this as the theme (see, e.g., "Risky Business", "Private Lessons", "Homework", "My Tutor", etc.)
I'm not excusing sinful behavior, but it is definitely interesting, as you note, how the times have changed.
So true!!! I can recall those moviues
ReplyDeleteOn anothert note I guess I did not realize Cherly Tiegs was so old!! That picture would have been taken in 69
