American Seminarians Lose the Vatican "World Cup" In Soccer (Updated)

Booo!!!!!! We suck again!! :) I blame the decline of American Catholic schools for this!!

According to the article 16 teams represent like 65 countries. The winning team were composed of Italians and South Americans (wow sounds fair) while we got Aussie folks on our team. It sounds fixed from the beginning to keep us down!!

See via the NYT a fun article at Shedding the Collar to Lace Up Cleats

Sadly we also note this awesome possibility is not being considered

There have also been talks of creating a Vatican national team, but Monsignor Mazza said that was not likely. But even if the Vatican is not ready for the World Cup, the Clericus Cup idea may well spread to the universal church. Similar tournaments among priests have already been established in Romania and will take place in Cameroon in July, said Monsignor Paganini.
