Lots of KAs are indeed upset, mostly for the feeling that the national office is bowing to the politcal correct types. The nationals did take the opportunity to spell out to current members that the Old South week tradition as well as wearing Confederate uniforms are not part of what the Order is about--that they were later traditions and not central to the mission of developing young men. And, the uniforms have been and are a distraction and a lightning rod for folks who are hurt by that practice or would use it to generate controversy.
