LSU Baseball Takes On Brown University From Tiny Rhode Island (Links)

LSU plays Brown University tonight!! I swear we have been playing William and Mary, Pepperdine, and now Brown . We are moving in "exclusive" circles here. Brown is the third-oldest institution of higher education in New England and seventh oldest in the United States

The first thing we need to realize is that Brown University is in the very very tiny State of Rhode Island.

In fact if the LSU Baseball team has a great performance tonight perhaps the LSU Coach will urge the fans in attendance tonight to pack up the beer coolers head up north and take over this State for Louisiana. I think about 8000 LSU fans could handle the job with ease.

Imagine the benefits!! We would have ports on both the Gulf and the Atlantic. The LSU Baseball team could present it as a gift to Jindal. Also hurricanes are rare in Rhode Island which is a plus. It would seem like a pleasant place to escape the Louisiana humidity too in the summers.

Here is the Brown Bears Baeball team web page that is pretty nice but sadly has not been updated in over a month!! I am still looking to see if I can find a media guide on there.

We shall be their first game they have played this season. Which I guess is one reason for the lack of "updates"

The Brown Student newspaper has a nice article on one of their Pitchers Mark Gormley who seems pretty respectable. He played in the premier Cap Cod Summer league and is one the radar of the Major Leagues.

The Advocate yesterday also had a few words about Brown yesterday(Scroll down). It appears that Brown is about to take a nice tour of the South visiting next South Carolina and also taking a tour of the Sun Belt . Those upcoming Sunbelt games are Troy, New Orleans and South Alabama .

We should have more pre game links come online from the various media and I will update later with those.
Updates!
Carl Dubois has his first entry up for Game day that also has a nice audio interview with Ross . See Tigers play Brown at 7 p.m. at the Box
A nice article on Gibbs here In Focus: Gibbs Committed to Excellence
