So we learn from David Corn in this incredible piece Are Democratic Presidents Smarter Than Republican Presidents?
The piece should actually be entitled "I Don't like George Bush Because I think he is Stupid and I need a reason to talk about my obsession with this topic"
I always find these Bush is stupid articles all sort of third grade like. It is really sort of sad.
I have a general rule
If you you get a Harvard MBA chances are you pretty smart
If you get elected to Governor chances are you pretty smart
If you get reelected to Governor chances are you are pretty smart
If you get elected President chances are you are pretty smart
If you get reelected to President when months before the pundits were measuring the drapes in the Oval Office for your opponent chances are you pretty smart.
That is just my view. Perhaps I am wrong on this but generally one can't do all the above by just winging it
Corn takes on the Bush verbal gaffes and uses this as proposed evidence. The problem with this is that VP Biden (who I admit is pretty damn smart) is accumulating a list to rival George Bush gaffes.
I never thought this was a big deal. I know a lot of intelligent people if they had a camera focused on EVERY SINGLE WORD they said in public they would look like idiots. We all would.
He says:
Is there any doubt that the collective brainpower of Reagan, Bush I and Bush II wouldn't come close to that of Carter, Clinton and Obama?....
This is the reason why David Corn will stay at magazines like The Nation and Mother Jones. He just is so biased.
Even BUSH I gets it!! Yes Bush I was stupid. The man that was former CIA Director , Envoy To China, successful businessman, Former Head of the GOP, Former VP, and former President. Oh but Clinton was so much smarter!!! Good grief.
The President that navigated us through the dangerous days of the Soviet Union imploding just can't compare to Obama and Clinton in the smarts department we are supposed to think.
This all seems again so THIRD GRADE taunting on the playground that generally people out grow and /or are forced to stop when they get to college.
Well said Viva Mr. Bush!
