Interesting article. My roommate in college was a freemason, largely due to his father's insistence that he join. I never really knew anything about it. His lodge was made up of a bunch of old guys that my roommate said couldn't run a masonic meeting, much less take over the world. Not really knowing about freemasonry, it was interesting to read why the Church objects to it.
Yeah it is a touchgy subject in my family because I I have a lot Masons in the family.
THere does seem to be in many ways a cultural difference between European Free Masons that are anti Chruch and involved in all sort of intrigues (like in Italy- THe famous P2 LODGE) and here
