This is strange at such a late hour. The only thing I can think is that someone has some major dirt on him and either threatened to, or is about to, expose it. Hate to sound so negative, but it's the only thing that makes sense (to me at least).
Or the Indiana Dems have known about this and now they will put their handpick guy in there at the last minute avoid a messy DEM primary while the GOP is scrambling
