Update- I posted similar thoughts on another board and about half the responses were I would not win in Federal Court on this issue. I think people are missing the point of my thoughts here. My point is tht IS I SHOULD NOT BE ABLE to win in Federal Court and thus I oppose the logic of what we are seeing in that Fed Case being currently heard.
Joseph Cao is the Republican Vietnamese U.S. House Rep for the Louisiana's 2nd congressional district. His election was a bombshell. In fact he got elected it is fair to say because of a perfect storm of events. Literally since one factor was the election was moved because of a hurricane.
His likely opponent is African American Democrat Cedric Richmond or African American Juan LaFonta. This district is at last official count 30.2% White, 64.1% Black, 2.7% Asian, 3.8% Hispanic, 0.3% Native American 0.2% other.
Now CAO is not a far right Republican that perhaps traditional African American do not like. See In GOP, Cao sides most with president. CAO is also very very very pro-life and anti abortion. Opinion polls have shown on a consistent basis that African Americans lean pro-life.
If CAO loses I urge we all go to Federal Court and file suit and demand he be put into office. Because no doubt the evidence shows the voters intent was racist and a violation of equal protection on several fronts. In fact early evidence shows that prominent African Leaders think he is the wrong color to represent this district. In fact these same leaders did a Recall effort against Call almost right after the election.
If he is defeated because African Americans voted in bloc for the African American running then this is a illegal result . How after one looks at CAO's voting record and other past statements of others can we see otherwise. It is clear evidence that the votes of mostly African Americans were illegitimate and the election should be voided!!
In fact the evidence is more damming. In the last Democrat primary a intelligent charismatic Latino woman was defeated by William Jefferson that was under Federal Indictment. The Message is clear. In the Louisiana Second Congressional District, WHITES, ASIANS, and Latinos NEED NOT APPLY. The voters choice was the result of a illegitimate choice that violated equal protection. REINSTATE CAO!!!
NOW if I did this you would think I must be a candidate for the loony bin. Call the Coroner and gets OPINIONATED CATHOLIC committed.
However if the increasing troubling developments in the current PROP 8 Federal Case being heard keep going along as they are why not this line of action.

Now it is just getting worse. The Catholic Key has Religion Bashing Proceeds Apace at Prop. 8 Trial - Updated. I hope people on all sides of the aisle start getting concerned.
Do people really want to go down this road? Do they want tax elections and others overturned by Federal Judges as they try to read the voters minds? SCARY STUFF.
