Have Pro-lifers Elected A Pro-Choice Monster In Massachusetts

Vox Nova has a post today Today’s Hero, Tomorrow’s Villain

As I have stated it appears to me that Brown is pro-choice much like Republican Kay Hutchinson is pro-choice. She votes for so much pro-life legislation that you almost forget she is pro-choice.

If he decides to run, he’ll need to appeal to the pro-lifers within the GOP, and he can now point to concrete endorsements from pro-life groups to establish his credentials. He may not even need to pull a Romney and switch his views. After all, during the previous Republican primary, Rudy Giuliani’s pro-choice views were much more accepted on the stage than Ron Paul’s anti-war views. Brown’s win enhances that acceptability.

I seem to recall history different. Paul got more votes than Giuliani and also Giuliani had a habit of withdrawing from primaries because he was doing so bad. The only State he really tried to make a stand was Florida. He was pretty much AWOL in the three critical states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Regardless the Dem nominee was very much a threat to the pro-life movement. Anyone just has too see her views on pro-lifers working in hospitals that emerged in the final days of the campaign. A position that even appears to be to the left of Ted Kennedy and Obama!!

I also suspect that new Senator of Massachusetts will not be using pro-lifers as a political foil and making us look like a danger to the Republic like his predecessor.

These was not a case of the Republican running against a STUPAK like person.

I have no doubt that pro-lifers will press him on issues that concern them. I am hopeful he will listen.

Last but not least I rather have a lesser pro-choice Protestant than a vehement pro-choice Catholic in office. At least we don't have that scandal going on. A great side benefit.
