Contentions has this on the Crist/Rubio GOP Senate Primary Race . See Re: Why There Are Primaries
Well a lot of snooty pundits and Washington insiders thought they knew best. And they are still at it, grousing about a divisive primary and wailing that “blood will be spilled.” Puleez. If Crist actually is a crudy candidate with a record of underachievement, Republicans are fortunate to find that out in the primary. And if Crist goes bonkers with a hyper-negative campaign, the Florida voters can register their disapproval. It’s politics. It’s elections. And when Republicans pre-select a candidate with a problematic record and don’t hold primaries, as we saw in NY-23, disaster happens in the general election.
I like Rubio in this race but I am not going to spend a lot of time offering my wisdom on the race except to point out the interesting news from it. That is because I am not from Florida. I have no idea what the issues are , what the climate is, and I have not seen these guys up close and personal. All I know about Florida is I have to drive like a bat out of hell to even get to the panhandle before nightfall and then it is usually another 8 hours to get to where you want to go. Plus there was a coll bar I like on the Florida. Alabama border called Florabama I once liked.
So while I hope Rubio wins I am not going to be on a BASH Crist campaign.
Needless to say I am not going to try nationalize this election into a RINO versus true "conservative" fight as so many want to do outside Florida.
That being said there has been a annoying theme In the media that something is amiss if the GOP has a contested primary for a OPEN SENATE SEAT. That is it is just Rubio and the nasty right wing(whatever that is) just causing problems. It is a open Senate Seat folks. What is the problem with a primary. That is what primaries are for.
