Lots For Conservatives to Like In Obama's Nobel Speech

Ok needless to say President Obama receiving this award is insane. That out of the way I got up early this morning to listen to it. Full text here.

NOTE to CNN talking heads- No need to give you two cents every second. It would have been nice to see more of the ceremony.

That being said there was a lot to like. I was pleasantly shocked. In fact this speech was in ways much better in parts than his recent speech at West Point. In fact I thought it was one of his best speeches ever.

I find often the conservative press is at times fairer to Obama than the liberal press to Bush. At least they will give Obama credit.

Contentions , after noting yes there was some yack moments, basically praised a good bit of it.

Even HUMAN RIGHTS MADE A APPEARANCE which has been far too lacking lately with this administration.

Despite the usual tiring not so subtle slams toward the prior administration several people have noted that it was very Bush like. Again William Kristol is noting that with approval.

I am sure this praise by Neo Cons .,Obama is getting kudos twice in two weeks, grates on ,liberals and Paleo conservatives last nerve.

Still something significant is happening. Obama is the Democrat President that appears to be leading his Democrat party past the whole post Vietnam era as to military force and American Foreign Policy . It is baby steps but again I think this is a important moment here.

Update- Bolton did not like it. See Bolton: Obama's 'Pedestrian, Turgid, And Uninspired' Address . Bolton seems to be focusing on the YACK moments and I agree with him on those. Still the speech had more than that.

  1. It's putrid garbage. He's a liar like always. Just playing Bush for a day to try and convince conservatives that he's not himself. Not going to work. Or, and this is more likely, he's rolling out his "just war theory" so that when he starts gassing Americans who disagree with him in concentration camps (and he will) then he can claim its a just war "of necessity" based on the newly touted "Obama doctrine." Always doubt the Devil, even when he's quoting Scripture. Jesus did.
