By Scripture Alone On Full Display in Anglican Controversy

I am going to comment on this more fully later today. The London Times has a OpEd called Nothing but sex please, we’re vicars . .

This part should have been at the very first part of the article:
I’m not a theologian. I may be overlooking something in the recorded sayings of Jesus Christ. But as far as I can recall, the founder of the Church said nothing whatsoever about sexuality — either his own or anyone else’s....

Good grief. Well sense you are not so well versed in these topics why are you talking on them? Right off the bat though we know we are in trouble. Jesus has ton to say about marraige and the male and female imagery in it. Guess he missed that.

Then we have here from the UK Liberating the Anglican understanding of sexuality

Among many things she says:

The notion of homosexual orientation however was probably unknown to the authors of the Bible, and – far from being “contrary to scripture” – sex between women is not even mentioned. There is an ambiguous phrase in Romans 1, but this probably refers to women indulging in “unnatural” sex with men. There are a handful of passages which refer negatively to sex between men, and one or two which are ambiguous.
The widespread belief that the Bible unequivocally condemns lesbian relationships is an example of how easy it is to project human prejudice on to God
.

Sigh!!! This argument is very similar to hey ABORTION is OK because Jesus did not talk about it!!! I hear that all the time. It does not matter that Holy Tradition as shown early in the Church Fathers were very much against it. That is ignored. Progressives become the most "By Scripture Alone" people on the planet. As to same sex unions the case is found in the same ways in tradition as it is to abortion..

Now as to same Sex Unions we see some thoughts by Paul on the subject (notice how in the first article I linked this is even demoted) but nothing in your face about Lesbians!! So the second article finds a out.

The same ole battle of Scripture alone versus the three legged stool of Authority, Scripture, and Tradition. Now it has just reached it's logical consequence. More on this later.
