Lets take back America from ACORN :)
Sad day they just announced that Patrick Wayne Swayze is dead . For people of my generation RED DAWN , which was one of his early movies, was great fun. I can recall being in school and all of us imagining the Russians and damn Castro Cuban Communists would land at our High School in North Louisiana. It was fun but yet people in a way took it seriously. It is a cult classic now .
It was made in 1984 where the threat from the USSR was very real and the Cold War was still hot. Strangely some movies back then reflected that which now seems sort of odd today considering the current state of Hollywood. National Review rated it the 15th best conservative movie of all time.
Times have changed of course. In that movie Charlie Sheen was a high school kid fighting the commies. Now he wants 5 minutes with President Obama to tell him how Sept 11th was a setup
Swayze of course was involved in some of the big movies of my youth. Dirty Dancing and Ghost. I think his last decent movie was Point Break that was truly Kick butt.
He actually I think acted pretty good in the CBS Civil War epic Mini Series (recall when we had those on TV) North and South.
RIP
