Law Prof Ann Althouse has "But, fair or not, what I heard was an unspoken word in the air: You lie, boy!"
Is this the problem? A lot of liberals that are projecting their own racial anxiety on to other people? Perhaps. If so I wish they would they would go see and Minister or get counseling or something. Not sure why innocent people should be accused of the sin of racism because of their own phobias
I have to say I worked summers at the Louisiana State legislature. Black politicos were yelling at black politicos, white politicos were yelling at white politicos and sometimes the yelling was interracial on all sort of issues from a to z. I don't think anyone was hearing in their heads "boy" or thought that was the word let unsaid.
Further it might shock the good lady of the New York TImes but we do allow the black lawyers in Courtrooms down here in the deep south . Every day White lawyers with thick southern accents that might even have gun rack are yelling at black lawyers and vice versa till the Judge tells them both can it. I never NEVER NEVER got the impression that "boy" was unspoken.
What a cartoon version of the world some people have if that is the case. One gets the impression that some of these people don't exactly live in the most interracial of worlds if they have such concepts.
Or again maybe they have racist thoughts.
This consistent drum beat of calling out anyone who doesn't agree with Obama on something is a racist is beyond ridiculous. I was shocked the first time a blogger called me a racist during the campaign because I refused to support Obama. Whenever I brought up facts about his record, indisputable facts, they just replied with "you just can't accept having a black president".
ReplyDeleteMaureen Dowd has never shown to have an ounce of journalistic integrity and I could think of no one better to be collecting an unemployment check right now.
I really thought this had gone away. I was it was insane when they acused Hillary Clinton of beeing racist
ReplyDeleteRecall the funny McCain ad they ran they said was racist
