John Maginnis has a good column up.
See John Maginnis: Jindal asserts his influence and authority over a resentful Legislature In other words despite the anti Jindal faction that flocks to newspaper comment sections like a moth to flame it appears that Jindal will not have a (Treen, Roemer, or Blanco ) moment. That moment is when for various reasons the Governor cannot control the legislature.
These moments have occurred for various reason. For Treen the First Republican since Reconstruction Gov Edwards and the Dem's were still controlling things. Roemer again a combination of Edward allies but also a bizarre personal crisis caused him to retreat. As to Blanco where she was just Blanco.
The attacks on Jindal have largely been hollow. His out of State trips to raise money for the GOP being a case in point. In North Louisiana we were lucky ever to see a Governor in vast parts of this State. Bobby has been to areas more time than the list of Governor have going back 25 years. All in just a two year span. So Bobby who is very popular in the North keeps this base very well pleased.
Of course it is early and these budget cuts to the Universities are a huge problem for him. So there will be minefields and as usual Jindal is going to need a little luck on things breaking his way.
