Florida Catholic Priest Scandal- Shows Divided Media and Divided Church

Now this Priest also known as "Father Oprah" is a huge international figure. Yet I have never heard of him. Lets say this had happened to lets say a major Anglo Priest I am sure the Catholic blogs, media, and secular media would be all over this.

Again to me it is just another reminder that for many of us we have no clue what is happening in the most vibrant and growing branch of American Catholicism.

The secular media does not help this of course that besides for issues of lets say immigration wishes to frame ethnic matters in a most white/black box. We see this happen time and time again. Asians for the most part are sometimes just "Honorary whites". In fact some black political leaders in New Orleans act that way toward Representative Cao in New Orleans.

I get a sense because I don't understand Spanish I am missing a good bit of what is happening in my Country and my Church because I can't understand what is going on via the Spanish speaking cable channels.

This of course goes beyond Hispanic Catholics. I suspect that 99 percent of Catholics do not realize the biggest American Catholic event held year in Missouri is a Vietnamese thing. Another vibrant community that I think many white and black Catholics are ignorant about. The Catholic press needless to say for the most part does not help matters
