I see that Father Z has their latest up . Father as usual helps out with comments. See Group called “Catholic Democrats” embrace polls rather than the Faith
I love this part
This is just another desperate attempt by a vocal minority on the far Right to create a false narrative intended to divide the Catholic community and President Obama," said Steve Krueger, National Director of the Catholic Democrats.
There was something missed about the Obama speech at Georgetown. That is on the whole Catholics that oppose the Obama Honoring at Notre Dame really were not upset that the President was coming to discuss his economic plan at a Catholic University. There is a difference. There are proper Catholic venues and times for the President to appear and most of us welcome it.
But you know us folks that are trying to 'Create a false narrative intended to divide the Catholic Community and President Obama." are such a sneaky bunch
Update-
By the way I think in President Obama's defense this is likely what was going through their minds See The devil went down to Georgetown. She says in part"
So I'm thinking that the Obama administration probably didn't request the switcheroo (actually they got a lovely piece of black plywood to cover up the troublesome initials) because the very sight of a sign of Christ's name would cause Mr. Wonderful to writhe around on the floor in agony, shrieking, "I'm shrinking, I'm shrinking, ohhhh, what a world, what a world!"
No, it's probably because his hip, with-it administration finally caught on (about a year after the rest of us) that the whole Obamessiah thing was making him look bad, and they should probably avoid yet another spate of photographs giving the visual implication that he considers himself The Chosen One.
The article says:
Although the monogram was covered over on the wooden pediment at the back of the Gaston Hall stage where it would have been directly above and behind President Obama as he spoke, the letters “IHS” are posted elsewhere around the hall approximately 26 times on shields representing different parts of the United States and the world.
So, this seems more like a clumsy attempt at averting more mockery (which seems, by the way, to be the only kind of attack that Obama cannot bear), than some kind of hubristic whitewashing of references to God.
