First lets look at what the State Party is saying:
The Louisiana Democratic Party issued a statement blasting Gov. Bobby Jindal's speech at a fundraiser for the National Republican Campaign Committee last night — accusing Jindal of "hypocrisy" on education.
“The left has not had an original idea on education since the invention of the chalk board," Jindal said.
"Gov. Jindal will be the first Louisiana governor in more than a decade to make severe cuts to education. University presidents and faculty across Louisiana have warned that Gov. Jindal’s budget cuts would have a crippling effect on higher education," said Democratic Party spokesman Scott Jordan in a statement.
Where on where do they wish the Governor to make cuts. Most of the budget cannot be touched because of Federal mandates or because parts of the budget are protected from cuts by the State Constitution. Ideas? No one likes these cuts but I hate to inform the Democrat Party but Democrat Lt Gov was in my little ole town just last week and seemed to be saying cuts to the Universities were going to have to happen. Will they send a memo out on that? Of course if we did not have a four year University every 50 feet in this State some of the cuts would not have to be so severe. Perhaps the State Dems can give us some ideas on that!! What would they like to cut? Coastal erosion projects, matching funds to finally make I-49 to connect to another State, the money that the State has offered to get Cyber Command here, shall we close down the Charity Hospital in Baton Rouge, etc etc
Now to the National Democrats:
WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Democratic National Committee fired back Wednesday at Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal for saying it is OK for Republicans to want President Obama to fail if they think the president is jeopardizing the country.
"We understand that Governor Jindal has had some problems with public speaking lately, but turning to Rush Limbaugh to be your new speechwriter doesn't help," DNC spokesman Hari Sevugan said in a statement sent to the media. "What we know has failed is the reflexive partisan politics of the past that Rush Limbaugh and his Republican party continue to be mired in. Rather than rooting for failure, we urge the Republican party to play a constructive role in moving the country forward and offer a budget proposal."
I don't think the Rush Limbaugh thing is really working. It seems to be the opinion of reasoned pundits(not just republican hacks) that this is all getting sort of silly
By the way will the National Democrat Party send out a press release on something that Democrat U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu really wants to see Obama fail on
Sen. Mary L. Landrieu (D-La.), who represents an oil and gas-producing Louisiana, said she wants to press Obama why he wants to tax independent oil and gas producers in the state."I'm going to ask the president how he thinks that increasing substantially taxes on the oil and gas industry help us to achieve our goal of domestic - energy independence of a more robust domestic drilling program. It's one of the areas where i take strongest issue with the administration.""Big Oil is one thing, and i support the oil and gas industry generally. Big Oil can fight its battles. ... But independent oil and gas producers which are the backbone of the domestic industry cannot bear the elimination of these tax credits."
Is Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu just another Rush Limbaugh?
