Ahh this was predictable as Death and Taxes. See African-American ministers kick off effort to recall Republican Congressman Anh 'Joseph' Cao and Effort to recall representative faces long odds
In a unintentionally funny quote we see
Supporters of the recall said they are not worried about a report last year by a Congressional attorney that states that "the United States Constitution does not provide for nor authorize the recall of United States officials such as United States Senators, Representatives to Congress, or the President or Vice President of the United States."
"It doesn't matter what the Constitution says," Young said.
Ahh who cares about that technical stuff. Is it not strange to see "Civil Rights" leaders not caring what the Constitution says?
We are told that the votes against the stimulus bill was the "last straw". Goodness he just got there!!! Last straw?
The black ministers behind this were the ones that backed William Jefferson to the end that of course was an embarrassment to the city of New Orleans and the State and the Democrat party. It appears that Jefferson had a huge hay barn of goodwill he could never be exhausted from them.
Cao is one of those Republican that no doubt would have voted for the Stimulus if well he had like other House Republicans has some input and if well it was not so full of pork.
Curiously this association seems not to be worried that the Stimulus contains nothing for Katrina recovery. See this NOT A DIME FOR KATRINA Ah but lets go after CAO. Perhaps if Cao was involved on the House side some legitimate Katrina recovery and infrastructure stuff could have been added
I hate to inform people but at some point there will be no money to spend and I would suggest getting projects (such as Coast land erosion ones) that could be up and running quick is a priority for today not tomorrow. Ah but lets recall Cao. Priorities people.
