Campaign Spot wisely notes
Obama's Own Personal FEMA?
Guy Benson, on the post earlier this week about the Obama campaign creating a permanent organization of volunteers, funded by $75 million per year in private donations:
Thank you for highlighting that piece about Obama's perpetual campaign machinery. I would respectfully suggest that you mught want to also post/analyze this paragraph, buried later in the piece:
In what would be another unprecedented step, Obama's political staff is deciding whether to create a service organization that would use the vast corps of its grass-roots campaign supporters. As described by one source knowledgeable with the discussions, this nonprofit arm would be used to help victims of natural disasters, but would do so under the Obama umbrella while continuing to build the overall network's massive e-mail database.
Has a president ever had an organized political relief squad, independent from the federal government? This strikes me as quite creepy. "Hi we're here to help...on behalf of Barack Obama....federal relief workers will be here shortly..."
The proposal is now starting to sound like what happens when project meetings get out of control. "They'll help elect Democrats to Congress! And they'll pressure wavering lawmakers! And, hey, what if we promised they'll mobilize in natural disasters! And they could fight crime! And they'll have special uniforms!"

I really wonder what brain trusts are coming up with this. Proabally the same folks that thought have Obama in front of 200,000 Germans screaming his name was a good idea.
The Germans, note, were not screaming. They were listening. They have had their false messiah. Would that Americans were as deeply inoculated.
