The Horrible Ignorance of the Catholic "Social Justice Catholics" Toward McCain

I had a a very exhausting afternoon. I had sort of a debate with a "Methodist" over John McCain the supposed "warmonger'. I came home and I decided to see what the Catholic blog VOX NOVA was saying. Sadly I had to see this entry John ‘Cain. Which was a replay of that same conversation. Tee difference is this is my on people. Catholics!!!!

I was angry and I was mad because I was having to explain not so ancient history to some Obama supporter that was like 23 years old. Now I tune into the Internet and I see one of the most premier Catholic Blogs doing the same ole damn mistake. I am giving the benefit of the doubt that the contributor of this post Mr Nate Wildermuth, that he is just too young to recall history.

We have here on a blog that often tries to proclaim themselves the advocate of catholic social justice just pure ignorance. Ignorance in the pure meaning of the word. I often think most of these people are so young they cannot recall ancient history (like the 1990's). Forgive the post on this but Mr Wildermuth has turned the comments off. Which really makes me pissed me off because his ignorance is incredible.

John McCain was put in a little box and went though years of hell we can't even imagine in our worst nightmares!! I had a period where I had no health insurance.

I had a horrible tooth problem that had this grown man screaming in pain night after night because I could not get a root canal. John McCain had his teeth knocked out hand his bones broken with no medical attention. GOD KNOWS WHAT THAT MAN went through.

Yet after all those years when Bush I and Clinton approached him to make peace with Vietnam he put Country first. Can you imagine going back to Vietnam and breaking bread with the people that put you through the worst possible hell that one can imagine on earth?

McCain was the lightening rod. I can recall when we just had one cable network the the pure hell McCain went through. I can recall numerous Vietnam Veterans groups booing and calling him a traitor day after day. Yet McCain kept going on. Again Country First. John McCain was responsible largely for peace with Vietnam.

I guess that is so yesterday's news as well as other Catholic Social Justice Issues that McCain stood up on. But to see this arrogant bullshit from a so called Catholic blog that dares dares criticize John McCain and not even recognize what he did makes my blood boil.

In their highly judging tone this contributor said:

Perhaps if John ‘Cain had been a man who put God first rather than country first, he would have listened to the small voice in his heart that said, “John, this isn’t right.” Perhaps he would have seen ‘gooks’ as brothers, not enemies. Perhaps he would not sing about bombing Iranians. Perhaps he would hesitate to kill. But he didn’t and he hasn’t, and short of repenting and making God first, he won’t. The brother-killing will continue until we, the people of God, proclaim with our lives these words of our Great Pope, John Paul II: “Let us all unite to fight every kind of violence and to conquer war!“

How dare he. Again the only thing that makes my blood cool is his ignorance toward McCain's history. But why do I think that will make little difference. It made no difference on immigration reform where McCain stood by Catholic principles.

Again I suspect I need to end this post because I will get so angry . But too see this BS from the so called Catholic Social Justice Catholics makes me mad. Bad ole John McCain lived and walked that talk about peace and reconciliation they always proclaim and did it at much personal pain. Yet we see this BS.

Two months ago my beloved dad's brother died in Vietnam. I suspect my Uncle was looking down with approval back then when some of his fellow servicemen were booing and hating on John McCain because of what he did those not too may years ago.

My Uncle the God Blessed Heathen Baptist at this moment knows more about Catholic Social Teaching than the ignorant hopefully Mr Wildermuth.

By the way there is a reason President Clinton said McCain was a great man. It is because McCain with President Clinton brought peace after much heartache with this part of our history.

I have learned a lot this election. But the most I learned is that so caleed Catholic Social Justice Catholics have a big ole case of amnesia on those that stood by them' THIS IS A HUGE CASE IN POINT. Which is why I guess after this post I want to spit nails!!!

When People ask me if Mccain pro -life what is my answer? My answer is the hell he went through in Vietnam and the fact he brokered peace with them at much personal discomfort. Hopefully some Catholic Blogs (if they have bloggers beyond 25) will recall this ancient history.

Till then signing off till morning. I don't trust my temper to post in a Catholic manner the rest of the night

  1. amazing how man "social justice" Catholics are just Socialist Catholics who approve of Marxism and many other unsavory forms of Fascism and 'Liberation' Theology.

I'm cautiously reading the original article you mentioned. I'm going to have to go to confession when I'm done reading it...

  3. I closed comments because I knew it was a controversial subject that deserved a better treatment than a combox war could provide.

Thank you for posting about this, though I am sorry that you were offended by what I wrote. I'll try to put together a post in response to your specific criticisms, as well as anything else that comes along after people read my post.

    Peace,
    Nate Wildermuth

  4. Just read the article.

Not a bit of theological meat anywhere! Just one human judging another, lying through omission of the information about Senator McCain's internment and his effort to work for peace with his former enemies and captors.

Yes, "Social Justice" Catholics can be very ignorant of the meaning of Justice and emphasize the "Social" part too much.

CCC 2304 ...Peace is not merely the absence of war...

  5. Nate I appreciate your comment and looking at my blog entry Iawas a tad harsh. When I talk about Ignorance I do not mean that in a bad sense. I think a lot of people just do not know what McCain did to bring peace between Vietnam and the US. I guess i get frustrated that a lot of this is lost to history but he did it and I can recall the boos and calls of traitor toward McCain

I am not angry at you but I guess I am angry at how significant things that people did not even twenty years are forgotten. Again my anger is not at you but it is a shame McCain gets no credit for what he did and that makes me mad

Again this is not personal and the reason I stated "ignorance" so much in my post is because this is never talked about

Again thank you for respinding to my post

  6. Before you get into the habit of defending John McCain to other catholics, you should really develop an understanding of what type of Christians that McCain intends to represent.(HINT: They are the type that consider the Roman Catholic Church "The Whore of Babylon").
