A bunch of bull? Last Updated: September 5, 2008 08:46 PM
A Shreveport teenager is out of jail after being arrested for having fake bull testicles on his car.
Last weekend Jamarion Powell was booked into jail for what the arresting officer stated was "promotion of obscene devices." After spending four days behind bars, Powell pleaded guilty in city court to "unlawful exhibition of sexually explicit material in a motor vehicle."
Assistant Caddo D.A. Hugo Holland says it's not a crime. He wrote the law and says it's clearly limited to sexually explicit videos played in vehicles. Holland says the jewels don't even fall under the state's obscenity law.
Vada Powell says she plans to file a complaint, but that might not be so easy considering her son did plead guilty. He says he did it so he could get out of jail and go back to college.
KTBS 3 has learned Shreveport police officers were told in Friday's roll call not to arrest people for displaying fake bull testicles on their vehicles.
