Well this is a major first and it is happening in Louisiana. In fact in Ponchatoula of all places!!! Yes the first Chesterton statue in the Americas is coming to the charming town of Ponchatoula. Who knows what will develop!! Perhaps some wacky fun Louisiana based Catholic Distributism party will develop there like Longism developed out of Winnfield.

Do you know if there is an actual connection between Chesterton and Ponchatoula? If not, then why exactly did someone or some group decide to erect a statue of an English Catholic novelist in a very un-English southern town?
It appers there is no connection. Just the Doctor there that has alway sbeen a big fan of his writings
