Why Do Some Republicans Never Get Kudos From Catholics?

I was going down my links and saw that Pro Ecclesia had come accross a comment I a made on a more political oriented Catholic site. Go see Catholic Teaching and Political Risk Taking: When Credit Isn't Given Where Credit is Due [UPDATED]

As see more "progressive" Catholic bloggers subtly make their case for Obama. It is amazing what they lead out. Basically it can be summed us as McCain is for US Troops in Iraq thus he is bad. Obama is against the War and is a "Uniter" thus is good. So please disregard that Obama voted for Infanticide. I am being a tad glib but they are trying to make their case. It is a case that needs to be refuted.

Regardless if I can add to the above comments I made that he references. It is not only about giving Credit. We saw this in Louisiana this past week. The Republicans lost a House seat down here as to the seat that was left vacant by Rep Baker. The Republican that won the primary was needless to say controversial.

The Democrat that won is a big Pro-lifer. Many Pro-lifers and yes quite a few Republicans rewarded his work on that issue in the Louisiana State legislature by voting for him in the Congressional race.

At some point people that are lecturing Republican leaning Catholics of putting "Faith above Party" need to realize it works the other way too. That is Republicans that try to bring in elements of for instance the Catholic Social Justice Ethic must be rewarded. That means work for them, promote them, and send them money. Or at the very lesst give them Kudos. If not other people will notice

Wait a minute James...Cazayoux a big pro-lifer? He's for embryonic stem cell research. He may be ok on abortion, but I don't think you can be for ESCR and get called a "big pro-lifer."

I agree on Stem cell research he needs work. But he was a prime mover behind the most restrictive bill in the nation that the state Legislature produced
