LInks and Stories on the New Bishop Duca of the Diocese of Shreveport

Work has been busy today so that explains the lack of posts. We shall be getting back on schedule hopefully after today

Anyway here are mega linksa on Louisiana's newest Bishop. Bishop Duca of the Dicoese of Shreveport.

Whispers in the Loggia has an great overview and link to the Shreveport Times religion as well as their photo gallery. Also he links to where you can see the entire recorded event online He even linked my few cents from yesterday!!! I feel as a Catholic Blogger I have arrived :). GO see "All in Our Little Backwater" (updated link fixed)

The Shreveport Times main story can be found here at New bishop ordained Monday

Speaking of the Shreveport Times , their religon reporter also has entries on her blog on the great event. Go see A shepherd for Shreveport, Two hours and counting..., and Ordaining a bishop

The local tv stations have
William Duca Ordained As Shreveport Bishop and New bishop of Shreveport is ordained

Vox Feminae , who was a part of the wonderful Choir, has a great entry (with nice pics) at Bishop Michael Duca ordained and installed in Shreveport . Se also has Vespers at St. John Berchmans which was from the night before and gives some examples of what they sung

Dugout Catholicism has entry at Bishop Watch...Shreveport

The Diocese of Shreveport has a lot on their web site. Go see Image Galleries: Vespers Service, May 18, 2008 and Reception for Vespers Service05.18.08 . Lot more pictures here at Image Galleries: Bishop Duca's Ordination and Installation, May, 19 2008

There is also a special editon of the Catholic Connection as to Bishop Duca

Update-
Another Shreveport Areas Blogger , Apprentice of St. Joseph , has His Excellency Michael Gerard Duca, Bishop of Shreveport . I think this is a very good post with his personal observations. He gets into what many of are hoping will change here

The Diocese of Shreveport of course is just more than Shreveport or Nortwest Louisiana. It runs from all the way to the Mississippi River. The northeastern part of the states has it own different feel.. The Monroe News Star World which is the main paper for that region has Bishop-elect Michael Duca hopes to 'move the hearts'

  1. thanks for your comments... it was a little nerve-wracking cantoring in such a large space... but an honor, too.
