Iraq Might Be off the News But Significant Movement Is Occuring

Funny I have seen none of this on the main media outlets here in the USA. It appears that a significant part of the end game in Iraq is about to happen? Confused? I can see why. The media's horrible reporting a few weeks ago on the latest Iraqi offensive does not help matters. The fact that media outlets and the usual suspects did not go back and correct those misleading reports compounds the problem

For those Catholics that read my blog I wish to remind them of the latest US Bishop's statement when they said in American Bishops statement on Iraq. :

The grave moral concerns we and others raised prior to the war now give way to new moral questions. In the current situation the traditional principles of “noncombatant immunity” and “probability of success” suggest these questions: How can we minimize the further loss of human lives? What actions will do the most good and least harm? What elements of a responsible transition are attainable? How can they be achieved? What actions should be avoided? How can decision makers take into account both the realities and setbacks in Iraq and the likely human consequences of rapid withdrawal.

Now of course many are in shock that the Pope did not demand Bush withdraw all U.S. forces from Iraq in his speech on the White House Lawn. They are victims of their own propaganda and attributing a position to the Vatican it does not have. This is one reason why the latest Statements from the US Bishop is never engaged by those people that wish a rapid withdrawal. It is a tad inconvenient.

The fact is the Vatican at the highest levels is working with members of the American/Iraqi Coalition as can be seen here at The Vatican , Al Qaeda , and The New "Protector of the Chaldean Catholics"

Regardless if one is a Republican or A Democrat, a supporter of Obama or Hillary or a supporter of McCain, I hope we all follow these developments as we engage these moral questions
