LSU Tigers Meet Louisiana Guard of the Tomb of the Unknown(VIDs and More Pics of D.C. Visit)

Channel 2 out of Baton Rouge relating to the Tigers Visit to the Tomb of the Unknowns that involves a Louisiana guy that is one of the guards The vid is located here at Tigers tour Tomb of Unknown Soldiers .(Hit enlarge Video if it does not come up at first) On a LSU board this morning, I saw this:

Just wanted to take a moment to prop up a good friend of mine's son. Those who watch WBRZ channel 2 probably saw the story last night where the team toured the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Well, the most recent Honor Guard member to receive his badge was none other than a young man from Denham Springs, Benton Thames. He also had the honor/privelege of taking the team on a tour and explaining all of the intricacies of the tomb watch.

Les took an immediate liking to the young man and told him if he gets to come home during FB season, he would be Les's personal guest on the sideline for any home game. Pretty cool for someone that is far from home to get the chance to meet the team and HC up close and personal. Here's to you Benton!! BTW, only 563 other men have received the tomb badge - ever!!! And, he got his in just over 5 months. It usually takes between 9 months and a year. Thanks Sports2 for running that story. The young man's mother is battling cancer as we speak and I know it meant the world to her and his dad.

The pics below has the young man that mentioned above speaking to the team and to Les. The LSU photo gallery of the Tigers trip to D.C. and the White House has really updated. I have a lot of photos here at LSU Tigers At the White House(Photos , Vids, and Links) . That thread is becoming pic Heavy so I am putting some more on here. On a real Funny note WAFB has Byrd interviewing the players on the D.C. trip as a special reporter. LSU football players seem to have the same thoughts as many tourist to D.C. That is wow this a lot of walking. Byrd is really funny. Go see Tigers In D.C and Byrd Full Report(this is a more extended version of part I which is pretty funny).
