Rod Dreher has his piece up in the Dallas Morning News here at A split in UD's soul. He has has set up a thread on this story over at his blog that I expect will have good comments at University of Dallas and Catholic identity.
The University of Dallas is a jewel for American Catholicism and I hope at this crossroads it returns to it's roots. As Rod mentions it has a substantial non Catholic student population. Thus making it an asset for the whole Dallas area. It would be a shame if what makes it special is lost.
For those that wish to read the piece together with something highly relevant might I suggest this from just last week!!! That is the Pope's address to United States Educators at address to them is available from the Vatican, Catholic University of America, Vatican Radio and Zenit.
A question should be considered by the University of Dallas. If the School goes too far from its Catholic basics then why should not Catholic parents send their Children to Texas A@M that seems to have the most thriving Catholic Ministries in the United States on Campus. Does Texas really need just another Business school?
