In the United States we here a lot about the challenges of integrating the vast Latino immigration populations. In Europe there is tension with a large Islamic surge.
However in the UK there seems to be some tension as to the influx of Polish immigrants into the Country and the local Catholic Church. There have been a flurry of articles on that lately in Catholic publications in the UK and indeed the secualr press.
Teere are always challenges. I often think at least in America we should look at some of the older models. Such as the Knights of Columbus whose mission was to help immigrants be of robust faith and adapt to America. Why are we not using them more as a outlet.
I suppose there are no Knights of Columbus Councils in the UK though. I do wonder if the UK Catholic Church could look at American History and in particular how the American Church in places likes Chicago handled the situation.
Ii the American South I can not think of a lot of places where we dealt with the POlish Catholic influence. But in Detrot in Chicago they did. I am sure there were tensions but it ended up being a success. Of course in Chicago and other areas it was much more of a case of a vast immigrant Church period. So perhaps our experience would not be helpful
