New Citizens In Ohio Say Who they like in 08

This occured in Illinois so I found this interesting.

Citizenship oath comes with a bonus

DOWNTOWN -- Eleven days before the most competitive Ohio presidential primary in a generation, more than 150 new American citizens learned today it’s almost impossible to avoid politics.
Within moments of presiding over the citizenship oath, U.S. District Magistrate Judge Timothy Hogan directed the new citizens to a voter registration table, and then said, “Let’s play around for a moment.”
Hogan, who was a Republican-endorsed candidate for county judge before moving to the federal level, conducted a quick public opinion poll from the bench. It’s too late to register for the primary, but not for the November general election.

“If you’re a new U.S. citizen, let’s see by a show of hands how many of you, if you could, would vote for Sen. Clinton?” he asked, then repeating the question about Barack Obama.
Both Democratic contenders had a respectable showing, but a clear majority of the new citizens said they favored the Illinois senator.About a dozen raised their hands for John McCain, and a single immigrant said she supported Mike Huckabee..........

More at the link.

I can't help but notice that several hispanic groups have been really pushing people to push ahead with citizenship. I have taken note of this in Florida. Let us hope that those people are much more McCain friendly if he gets the nod. In fact I think they would be. It is wrong to read too much into this. However it is interesting Hillary is getting more support at this event by a clear majority than Obama.
