If Carmouche Runs For McCrery's Congressional Seat he will Win

Bad news the GOP. Republican Jim McCrery is retiring this year leaving the his North Louisiana district open. I thought the Republicans would keep this seat. Now we hear:

Carmouche considering run for Congress

Caddo District Attorney Paul Carmouche, who announced last week that he will not seek re-election after 30 years in office, said today he is considering a bid for the Northwest Louisiana seat in Congress.
Carmouche, a Democrat, said he has been getting calls about a congressional race since announcing he will leave the D.A.'s office at the end of the year.
"I am looking at it seriously. I may in the near future get together an exploratory committee and see whether it is do-able," Carmouche said.
Asked what the odds of him running are, Carmouche said, "I think the chances are probably good, assuming the exploratory committee comes back with good news."
Carmouche said he expects to make a decision in about a month.
U.S. Rep. Jim McCrery, who has been in Congress for nearly 20 years, announced in December he would not seek re-election.
Carmouche, 64, said he initially thought he was too old to run for a federal office but researched House of Representatives and found out that 172 are in their 60s -- although most had been in Congress for several years.
Announced candidates for McCrery's seat are John Milkovich; John Fleming, a Minden physician; and Chris Gorman, an executive with Tango trucking company in Shreveport.
Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator and Shreveport lawyer Jerry Jones, both considered strong potential candidates, announced last week they aren't running for Congress. Former Shreveport Mayor Keith Hightower announced today he's not running.
The Democratic primary for the congressional election is in October with qualifying in July.
If Carmouche were to be elected, he would be the second Louisiana congressman from Napoleonville, a south Louisiana town of 800. U.S. Rep. Charlie Melancon is also from Napoleonville.
Carmouche said he was approached about the 4th Congressional District seat before McCrery was elected the first time but decided to remain D.A. .

Paul Carmouche is very popular. He will get a alot of conservative and Republican support out of Shreveport. I think he will get a lot of votes out of conservative Bossier Parish. He will have the Sheriffs backing him and he has a ton of political captial to cash in.
