Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup for Oct 25th.

No Picture today that has a Louisiana Catholic Focus. This post was a little late getting out. Hopefully one tomorrow. :)
Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message has a nice mediation on today's gospel reading at his post today.

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks is offering a FREE book contest all day today. You can still still put your name in. Go see The Music Plays On...

Catholic Tube has a set of really goods You Tube vids up. First here is a blast from the past. For those interested in American Catholic History the name Father Charles Coughlin should set off those brain cells. To say the least he was a bundle of controversy. Go see this 1936 speech he gave at Father Coughlin in 1936. I intend to watch this later in the day. Go see Should Catholics Call God “Allah”. Finally a good vid on what one Diocese in doing to teach the Faith. Go see that here.

From The Recamier is still blogging while on vacation. She starts her latest post telling us all about the saint we honored yesterday. That is Saint Anthony Mary Claret, bishop (died 1870). She tells us all about being so close to the great white North and what was happening at the falls. It appears they shall be going to Canada today. I often wonder if Cajuns(I am assuming she is Cajun) go and try to find where there kinfolk are buried up their in Canada when they are that close. These would be their ancestors that were the before the WAR CRIME of the great expulsion. She has a lot of other facts and things you need to know on her post also.

Alive and Young has some good ones today. Check out 25 Top Action Heroes . I have to admit I love this post More Things NOT Said by Jesus .

Astonished yet at Home has a few up. First he responds to :) a light jab I gave him here at his post Huckabee and Paul: Why I Am Thinking About Both, Why I May Not Touch the Elephant at All . I think he brings up a lot of points that I intend to do in a separate post today. Anyway read his post for a view of coming attractions. He also is doing a a post at another blog here. Go see Later on Arrival . Yes as soon as I hit the submit button I shall be adding this blog he references(Look for it in the Baton Rouge Catholic Section). Please read this post and link Hope to Carry On that is about the connection between Orthodox Bishops and vocations. He has a nice post on Who Doesn’t ♥ Mike Huckabee? . Pro -life news at Tiller the Killer Fights Grand Jury . This POST IS A MUST READ for BOND FANS which I am one. Go see Okay, I'm Thinking of Taking Up Stamp Collecting . I am posting this on the TigerDroppings.com movie board too.

The Brown Pelican Society has A ton of links and posts and as usual I shall end with him.

  1. Alas, I am Cajun only by marriage; and Richard, though he considers himself Cajun, could be technically said to be only 1/128th Cajun, since most of his French ancestors were in Louisiana before the Acadians were booted out of Acadie in Le Grande Derangement. And Niagara Falls (between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario) is far and away from Acadie (in the Maritime Provinces). But I do know people of Cajun ancestry who do travel to Acadie to see where their Acadian ancestors came from.
