Louisiana Catholic Blogger Update for October 1st

Time to review what the Catholic bloggers are saying.

Looking at the Birds and Considering the Lilies has a nice post called Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum. He makes some nice observation about the extraordinary use or traditional Latin Mass that he has been attending the last three weeks. He also has this post Matthew 5 which is his reflections on the State execution.

Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has two pictures I just love under his Sunday and Saturday entry.

If you are near Lake Charles tomorrow and want to attend a Classical form of the Latin mass then go toThe Lake Charles Latin Mass Society and his entry Private Mass at a house.

Astonished Yet At Home has several good posts. First he has this post Tearing Down the Big Tent . I have seen this discussed on two political sites today and I am very tempted to comment on what is going on in that link.. As usual I am seeing Tony Perkins(Former State Louisiana Rep and now Big Christian Political Leader) getting into the fray. I think this is a disaster waiting to happen and I shall give my Catholic Pro-life viewpoint why I disagree.
hopefully later. I love this prayer he post at Lord, Send Us Fools . Astonished has a post also called The Feast of Saint Therese . Tobias touches on a small controversy we are having at LSU as to the student section. His post In Case You Missed Michael Denton's Last Column touches on that. Michael is of course the Catholic blogger that is on hiatus(even though he is blogging at the LSU student newspaper. I agree with Michael's thoughts and in fact have been letting my view be heard on the LSU football boards. Most LSU fans agree with Michael by the way I find. Also keep praying. Tobias 's dad is better as he reports here at Out of ICU .

Our Priest blogger from the Baton Rouge area has a couple of entries up from over the weekend at Thy Nose to the Marble.

Catholic Tube has more great Catholic vids up. First check out his link The Existence of God which is a great presentation by the noted Catholic Apologist Peter Kreeft. He is also keeping up the pro-life focus at 40 Days For Life - Day 6.

One of Our Catholic Louisiana Home schoolers, that being , A Number of Things, has a nice post called Watercolors: Lesson Two.

Footprints on the Fridge has a real funny post called What's in a Name?

From The Recamier has her daily post up here. She has some nice facts(and painting) of the Saint of the Day for yesterday Saint Jerome, priest and doctor (died 419). She has a lot more fun facts and who died , and what happened on this day kinda of facts again. Always a fun blog to read each day

The Brown Pelican Society of course has a lot of posts and links today of information we need to know about. They are
Pope Asks Rich to Hear Cry of Poor
Sowell of a Justice(This is about Justice Thomas of the US Supreme Court. It seems also that the blogsphere is abuzz with the 60 minutes interview he gave last night. I HATE I missed that.
Why Fred Thompson Will Win( I am not endorsing this yet- Geaux Huckabee)
Some Aspects of Teaching Religion
Reproductive Technology and the Right to Life

  3. Sure thing. Maybe there are a few Louisiana blogs out there who have Catholic writers, but don't write about Catholicism. Just a thought. If I find some more, I'll let you know.
