Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup for Sept 17th

St John Berchmans Cathedral -Diocese of Shreveport Louisiana

Catholic Tube has a great vid here called The great garment of grace, also known as the scapular. Also check out this vid that is a priest talking about 9/11 on its 5th anniversary.

From The Recamier has her roundup of important facts and the Saints of the day for yesterday (Saint Cornelius, pope and martyr (died 253) and Saint Cyprian, bishop and martyr (died 268) ). These saints are biggies in many ways and I might try to do something on them later if I have the time. Be sure to check your good overview of them. In the facts of the day she talks about a historical event I can't believe I have never heard about. That is a deadly bomb attack that occurred on US soil in 1920. She also reminds us we(Americans) need to put our flag out today. Check to see what important day this is.

Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message had a very interesting post today on being Catholic in the Bible belt and what you encounter. Let me say as to the issue he confronts , I think that differs from place to place in the so called "Bible Belt". Though here in North Louisiana you would not find beer at a Southern Baptist Church function , I don't think people here would be so shocked or horrified that is happening elsewhere. However Texas is pretty hard shell in some places.

Cajun Cottage Under the Oaks has this post called Dolls-Button Eyes-Rasberry Lipstick-Girls Named Anna. It is about a special doll

Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has a some post up. He has a funny Techi comic up under his entry for today. Check out his Sunday Sept 16th entries where he has links for info on the "latin mass" and a link to a great cool library
