Looking Back One Year Later On the Pope's Statements on Islam

It just seems like yesterday, but one year ago the Pope made his famous REGENSBURG speech. The reactions within some quarters of Islam was not helpful to say the least.

However the West does itselfs no favors by just looking at the mobs of Moslems that took to the streets. "Mobs" by the way that I suspect are not all that they seem. The influential Catholic Italian Newspaper Avvenire had two essays on the matter yesterday. I found them very interesting. Both have been translated at the Ratzinger Forum and can be found at the top of the thread here. I thought both essay were very good and get to the root of the matter. There are signs of hope as well as warnings
