Don't be like the Pagan Alabama Fans- Here is The Catholic Blessing For Beer for Tailgating Use

This is another post I shall be highlighting on the Louisiana Catholic Update. However since we are about to consume massive qualities of beer this Saturday tailgating for our Holy and Sacred ritual of College football I better get this out.

Father Ryan from the Diocese of Alexandria at his blog Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has the Blessing for Beer here. So LSU fans(and others) don't act like the pagan Alabama fans and please bless your kegs(lay people can do this I suppose but grab a priest if you can) so your tailgating has God' approval. I am sure at LSU they would just love to have a blessing of the Kegs in the morning at the Christ the King on LSU campus. I am willing to bet that the Franciscans at Louisiana Tech would really go for this. We need all the help we can get before the Hawaii game. He has more at the link about this prayer but here is the sacred prayer
BLESSING OF BEER
V: Our help is in the name of the Lord.
R: Who made heaven and earth.
V: The Lord be with you.
R: And with your spirit.Let us pray
.Lord, bless + this creature, beer, which by your kindness and power has been produced from kernels of grain, and let it be a healthful drink for mankind. Grant that whoever drinks it with thanksgiving to your holy name may find it a help in body and in soul; through Christ our Lord. R: Amen.
It is sprinkled with holy water.
