Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup For August 9th

Why are We having Cake on the Daily Louisiana Catholic Blogger Roundup?

We are having cake because Astonished, Yet at Home! has "OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED HIS BLOG" Cheers

Atonished has a lot of post up so far(currently I am typing this at 3:43 am).
A good post that he has just put up and is a good introduction to him is On Becoming Catholic: A Brief Spiritual Autobiography which is very interesting. It is a good bio and intend to read it again when I am more awake.
Yesterday like many Catholic bloggers St Dominic was remembered. Tobis has this post On Saint Dominic's Zeal for Souls and also Saint Dominic's Nine Ways of Prayer . HE also mentions the Bond's Homerun record. Tobis really hits on Fred Thompson hard and his abortion problems in this post Pro-Choice Fred Thompson Tobis has a hard hitting post on the GOP field here called The Hard Sell on Fred Thompson and the Whoredom of Politics . I disagree a tad with that post and will interact with it in his comment section some time today.I think that is a tad harsh and I hope to make some points about the Bushes and their pro life outlook.

Coming into the start of "Launching day posts" he has a link to the columns he wrote for the LSU paper in 2005 My Reveille Collection . He posted this called Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross on The Doctrine of the Cross .
There is a Catholic from Lafayette I talk to on Tigerdroppings.com , whose screen name I can't remember right now, that just loves St Edith Stein. If I can remember him I am going to send this post that Tobis has done that has a lot of links on Edith Stein. Be sure to check out his blog during the day.

For The Greater Glory blog had two very interesting posst yesterday. First he has some thoughts today on the Bond's homerun record here at A Record and a Man Broken. He also has a post on something I was not aware of. They are making a Modern Version of Casablanca. I agree with his thought here that I think this is a bad idea.

From The Recamier has a good post that includes info on Saint Dominic, priest (died 1221). THe Reclaimier also as everyday has so much interesting tidbits of history for the day. Go to the post to see what author died today that wrote a short story WE ALL READ IN HIGH SCHOOL. It is a universal favorite I think.

THe Feast of St Dominic would not be complete without visiting Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message. Why ? BEcause the good Father is a Dominican himself. HE has this great post on him and how perhaps for the sake of Catholic Schools we need so badly to ask for his intercession.

Dei Gratia has another post on Canon law(dealing with the Bishop of Rome in this one) and has this post on the Deception of Sin and ask for a personal prayer request.

Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has this humorous illustration between the difference PC and MAC.

The Brown Pelican Society that should start posting in about a Hour(5 am) is sure to have a ton of post

I am always ont he outlook for Louisiana Catholic blogs that touch on the faith on occasion. They don't ahve to talk about religion 7 days a week. If you know of a Catholic Blogger from Louisiana that touches on the faith some let me know. Be sure to check out my Louisiana Catholic links on the side for other blogs that put their 2 cents in today
