On To LSU News in the papers-
There is a lot of stories today because of the fan day that happened yesterday.
The Advocate has a nice piece called What They're Saying which has quotes from Miles, Crowton, and Pelini.
The Advocate has a article on all the hot fun yesterday called Fans brave heat to meet Tigers.
Rabalais in the Advocate has a piece called Pittman determined involving Kirston Pittman. Nice encouraging article for that young man.
The New Orleans Picayune has a post up called FAST & LOOSE which has a focus on the LSU defense under Bo Pellini.
The Picayune has a great article called Miles' path to title would be tougher than Saban's. Thank God someone is pointing that out. People might not like him saying LSU is overrated but he does bring some much needed reality into peoples mind. We have some unknowns here
Returning to the Advocate we see the article Perrilloux pulled from media day. (nothing to panic about). That article has updates as to other players too and the Perrilloux angle is just a small part of it. This is a real good article so read this one
Glenn Guilbeau(gannett papers) has three articles that hit most of the Louisiana papers this morning called LSU Notes: Pair of backups hurt in scrimmage and Uncommon ties bind Miles, former LSU coaches, and finally Jones settles in at LSU -- for now. That last article deals with Chad Jones who is also still in play with being signed by the Houston Astros. I am sure Miles and also our Baseball Coach will breath a sigh of relief once Wednesday comes and goes.
On that topic the Advocate touches on that subject with a more optimistic title of Dad: Jones will play at LSU. This appears ot have some more info from Sunday night than the Gulibeau article. Still lets cross our fingers.
There is a great article I missed from yesterdays Picayune called Crowton poised to make a point.
Sports Illustrated in their Top Twenty game to Watch this Season article has LSU in three of them. Guess what game is number one.
One of My favorite LSU players, Jacob Hester, is getting some respect and notice here at ESPN.
The Boards and Blogs-
Fans at Tigerdroppings give their observations of fan day.
WJBO on their site is just mecca of LSU fan stuff today . First they have audio interviews from fan day of Les Miles, New OC Gary Crowton, DC Bo Pelini and QB Matt Flynn here. Later in the day on that page they should have audio interviews of Glen Dorsey, Darry Beckwith, Early Doucet and Chad Jones plus others later in the day.
On the main page there is a recap of recap of the scrimmage and first week up practice is up as well.
Dandy Don as Can be expected had a lot of stuff on Fan day. HE also mentions the fact that it is silly that this event is so short in duration. People travel from Shreveport and out of State to attend. They need to add at least a HOUR
NOTE LOUISIANA TECH FANS. Dany Don is going through LSU opponents today and he has his observations on Louisiana Tech today. Please keep Dandy Don in your prayers as well as his wife and the soul of his Sister in Law that dies last night.
Wow that was a big one and work calls. Louisiana Tech fans I will have something up soon for yall in a bit.
