The Louisiana Catholic Blogger Round Up on The Feast of the Assumption

First lets remember to keep two Louisiana Catholic bloggers in our prayers. First is Astonished, Yet at Home! who needs prayers for his dad's illiness. I should note he did pop in and asked us to remember the great Saint we honored yesterday. Also praying for the Full recovery of Full Circle's nephew.

Since those two bloggers are in the Diocese of Baton Rouge lets start there.

Father Decker at Thy Nose to the Marble. tells us that a classic cartoon might be coming to the big screen.

For The Greater Glory has two post. First he points out and comments on the recent poll numbers for Bobby Jindal. I agree with his comments. I can tell you up here in North Louisiana Boasso is getting no traction. People always think money can buy elections. They really can't. Just look at Buddy Leach and all the money he spent on the last Governor's race. In fact for the money he is spending the message I think sucks. I could of far more btter ads he could be doing for the money spent

I hit on this post yesterday but pro-lifers please read his post on the Memorial Hospital case. I have the same concerns.

The Brown Pelican Society has a lot of posts. Please note especially the first three very important pro-life post.

I am going to note this blog. In a couple of weeks keep track of the The Parousian Post. That is a LSU Catholic organization and I suspect they will get active again once the semester starts and everyone is back in town

To the Diocese of Lafayette

This is a biggie. I might highlight this again fater I listen to it. Catholic Underground has their new podcast up here. This group is really quite excellent and three Louisiana bloggers(2 priests and layman) are the ones that do it. More Later

Catholic Tube appears to have a great vid up that is a tribute to the martyrs of the church.

Dei Gratia has two post up. First he has a post up on his Canon law. This time looking at duties of lay people that are married. HE also has a substantial post on his thoughts on Goodness, Evil, and pro-life. I hope people take a look at that. I think it is important for Catholics and voting too. I am bookmarking this one

From the Recamier has a great post up. She really hits on St Kolbe as well as other things.

Footprints on the Fridge continues her post on the Seven Steps to a Charlotte Mason Lifestyle--3 and 4.

In the Diocese of Alexandria Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan has a couple of post up. I am having trouble with his permalinks but look at his August 14 th entries. First there is a story about how the Church is having to deal with some crazed wacko from the Green party in Europe. The second one is how pro abortion catholics are a huge threat to the Church

Our exile form the Archdiocese of New Orleans has a great post for today. That is Fr. Victor Brown’s Catholic Daily Message. He has a great post on the Assumption today.

That is it for the Louisiana Catholic roundup. If you know a Catholic Louisiana blogger that touches on the faith on occasion let me know and I will add them

  1. RECAMIER, James! not RECLAIMER!

Madame de RĂ©camier was a French hostess of great charm and wit whose salon attracted most of the important political and literary figures of early 19th-century Paris. (Her name has since become attached to the Cleopatra-style couch on which she would lounge languidly.)

When I needed a chatroom screenname, I selected "DameRecamier023" out of homage to her; and so, when I started my weblog, it was natural that I would name it "From The Recamier".

Keep up the good work, James! I get a lot of good information from your weblog!
