First, Let me introduce two new Louisiana Catholic bloggers I am putting in the Louisiana Catholic Link Section. They are both from the Diocese of Lafayette(I think) and both hit on homeschooling themes at times.
The first is A Number of Things. In her latest link she talks about attending that homeschooling conference that another Catholic Louisiana blogger organized.
However let me point out something. She has has a pretty unique Catholic business which has a web site called Gardens of Grace!. Wow! Look at those beautiful items. As you look around you see that this is original stuff that you are buying. I love her vintage element collection. On her rosary section she points out that each strand is 49 strands of nylon-coated
stainless steel and has a 26 pound test strength. Finally. I am so tired of my rosary and Chaplets tearing up in my pocket or not lasting. If we can catch massive Fish of the sea on some fishing line we can make rosary that lasts. She mentions that there will be a lot of stuff online for Fall(just in time for Christmas Shopping). Nice.
The Second Catholic blogger-Footprints on the Fridge- raising little men of God. Her latest post is Seven Steps to a Charlotte Mason Lifestyle. She just got back from the Caribbean which seems nice compared to the heat and humidity we have suffered here the last two weeks.
Now returning to the overview.
As to prayer request let s us keep the requests of Astonished Yet At Home! as to his Father and also his friend, Full Circles's Nephew that he might continue to recover, and the souls and families of those poor teenagers that Cajun Cottage talks about.
Today we start in the Diocese of Baton Rouge. For the Greater Glory Blog has a post up that warmed my heart called Huckabee is Brillant. Of course he is I am supporting him. THis post mentions how the Fair tax folks and Home Schoolers really got behind Huckabee and gave hm that great win in the Iowa straw poll. Ignore this line though :) "However, it also lends plausibility to his having a hand in the Brownback Catholicism bit without managing to get himself caught." As I keep saying Huckabee is not anti Catholic or engages in that business. I have not wanted to do this because I like Brownback but I am getting temepted to show the Dirty pool that St Brownback has been doing. Anyway good post and shows that Huckabee has some shill to get elected. He aint just no former pastor that plays in a rock and roll band.
It appears our Priest Blogger at Thy Nose to the Marble has been following the important saga of filling the Vacant Bishop spot in Birmingham Alabama. It appears this morning as predicted by a blogger that the Bishop has been picked. Fr Decker has the links.
The Brown Pelican Society has numerous posts this morning on Catholicism and news we should know and check out.
Next we go next door to the hisotric Arch Diocese of New Orleans.
We see that Fr Allen's blog is starting to get a new Fresh and exciting look. It appears to be under construction but pretty soon I expect it will be completed.
We now go to the Diocese of Lafayette. I have already highlighted two new bloggers that reside in that Diocese. From the Reclaimer who gives her daily Catholic Saint and historical facts that we need to know. Yesterday she points out the the very interesting memorial we had for Saint Pontian, Pope and Martyr (died 235) and Saint Hippolytus, priest and martyr (died 235) yesterday. She also points out one of my favorite film directors was born yesterday. Also a pretty big and beloved author died on yesterdays date as she points out.
Dei Gratia continues looking at interesting article of Canon Law. I have a interest in the ones that he is looking at lately. In the Catholic Church we have different rites. Most people are members of the Latin Rite. However there are a lot of "eastern rite" Catholics. One cannot just change rites at the drop of the hat. His latest post talks about some of the law regarding how one changes rites.
THe Wonderful Catholic Tube has another Catholic vid up dealing with the purpose of the Body and the resurrection.
Speeding down Interstate 10 to the Diocese of Lake Charles
We see that Cajun Cottage that held the homeschooling conference in Abbeville Louisiana has more details and pics of the event.
Fianlly going North on the 165 to the Diocese of Alexandria we go to Thoughts & Ruminations from Fr. Ryan He has a post on the latest Chinese Govt silliness and a pretty funny t shirt.
As I have noted I enjoy looking at all the local Catholic blogs. I know there are a lot more out there. SO if you know a Louisiana Catholic blogger that touches on the Faith once in a while let me know so I can add them.
