Pro-Choice Groups Demands CBS Scraps Tebow Pro-life Super Bowl Ad

SI has a good story on this at CBS urged to scrap anti-abortion Super Bowl ad featuring Tebow.

Needless to say Pro-lifers and advocates of Free Speech need to be on the phone and sending emails urging CBS to stay the course.

I am doubtful they will scrap it. From an economic point of view why would they.

First lets us recall that CBS is largely the SEC network. Tebow has been on to their stars over the years and had helped the ratings on Saturdays. Further the South is needless to say one of the most religious parts of the country. These Jesus soaked Footballs fans are not likely to take kindly to what they view as discrimination.

Second CBS does not want to anger SEC fans. Player and fan hate against other SEC teams is legend down here. However Tebow is one of those rare players that even the most ardent Florida haters like. Even when he has been cause of our loss in some cases. Why? Well my gosh he is just such a decent young man. So CBS has to watch that.

Third EVERYONE is talking about it. It has been the Super Bowl Ad that everyone is talking about!!! People will tune in even more just to watch it and thus they will be glued to the TV sets till they see it. Which means more people watching the other ads. WIN WIN.

Finally, Superbowl ads are becoming more controversial in order to be talked about. How will CBS justify it is ok to be controversial to sell beer and other items but Pro-Life ads are off limits.

Still pro-lifers need to get on the phone and emails now and urge CBS to hold the line.

Update- Mirrors of Justice has a great post and thoughts on this at Perhaps the most depressing protest ever?
