Does the State Use of Religious Symbols Really Insult Believers ?

Over at Mirrors of Justice legal scholar Marc DeGirolami has a post up that is timely because of certain matters before  our Court.  He engages one of the arguments that people sometimes use in arguing against the Government use of religious symbols at times.  That is that such a use insults believers  themselves .

I was at House of Blues last weekend, and above the stage, there is an assortment of religious symbols(?). I'm not sure why.

There's a yin yang, star of David, crescent moon and star, the Sanskrit word meaning "Zen," a Buddha, and a multi-armed thing-a-ma-bob.

I didn't see anything that looked Christian.

I figured it's because it would be insulting or unduly pressure people into... something.

Unlike all the other images.
