I've been hearing rumblings (from NRO and elsewhere that it's been in the works for months (if not years) now.

But I have to ask why anyone in their right mind would want the movie to be remade? The original is a classic piece of Cold War Reagan-era awesomeness that cannot possibly be duplicated in the context of these times. Any remake would not and, indeed, could not do justice to the original.

Any remake is likely to be filled with PC America-hating (or at least conservative-America-hating) nonsense.

Oh Lord please DON'T let this be true.

Well from what I can tell at one of the links it seems to be pretty anti political correct.

However I do agree it is dangerous to remake such a cult classic in some ways
