The Historic Hotel Bentley In Alexandria Louisiana Is A Hundred Years Old This Month!!

Who cares I can hear!! Well I hope many do. Lots of Louisiana and national history was had in that grand hotel. Including Patton and other folks mapping out D-Day plans on bar Napkins.

Alexandria has a fine history that sadly is ignored by many Louisiana folks. There is a viewpoint at times that nothing significant happened north of I-10 or perhaps if people are being charitable north of of the old main EAST/WEST avenue in south Louisiana route U.S. 190. I get a feeling some time places like Mamou and Grand Couteau are the outer limits for many after which beyond are the dark desolate lands of Yankee ville.

However there is much and the Hotel Bentely is a part of it. WE SAW THAT has a fine post of this history at gannett/town talk still ignoring hotel bentley homage website
