Alabama- We're Coming Be Afraid Be Very Afraid- Sincerely LSU(You Tube Vid)-

Spread it around LSU fans to all your friends. Send it to the poor souls at Bama if you know them.

LSU Bama 2007 - In the Air Tonight

"Why Nicky, it profits a man nothing to lose his soul for the whole world... but for Bama??"
I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord
Ive been waiting for this moment, all my life,
oh lord
Can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh
lord, oh lord
Well, if you told me you were drowning
I would not lend a hand Ive seen your face before my friend
But I dont know if you know who I am
Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I
know where youve been
Its all been a pack of lies
Well I remember, I remember dont worryHow could I ever forget,
its the first time, the last time we ever met
But I know the reason why you keep your silence up, no you dont fool me
The hurt doesnt show; but the pain still grows
Its no stranger to you or me
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord...
And I can feel it coming in the air tonight,oh lord
Ive been waiting for this moment for all my life, oh lord
I can feel it in the air tonight, oh lord, oh lord
And Ive been waiting for this moment all my life, oh lord,
oh lord

Did you miss this one?

http://burketokirk.blogspot.com/2007/10/ranking-sec-football-teams-by-affection.html

I was hoping you'd comment or better yet, post your own list.

Here my SEC rankings by tribal loyalty and affection:

I rank them, and it's all in fun!

1. Alabama because the Crimson Tide is my tribe.

2. Vanderbilt because they let me in their fancy law school and they are the little team that plays for pride and little glory.

3. Georgia because of Larry Munson and because my wife and my great-great-grandfather attended. (When Alabama plays Georgia, I don't watch. I simply accept the result within the sacramental vows of marriage.) I love to listen to Georgia games on the radio because of Larry Munson, and when my wife and I were exiled in the Midwest and got our first internet connection, we tuned into Larry Munson for the Bulldog broadcast. The Bulldog radio broadcast with Larry Munson and Loren Smith is as Southern as slow-cooked pork and just as good.

4. Ole Miss because of Johnny Vaught and Archie Manning, who brought me my first memories of SEC football when they played Alabama during in 1969. (Alabama won 33-32 in a barnburner.) William Faulkner attended Ole Miss, and he made low grades in English. For a while he was postmaster, but between drinking and golf, the mail often went undelivered so he was fired. Later, the U.S. Postal Service gave him a commemorative stamp! Finally, when the Ole Miss band plays "Dixie" at the end of the game, they play it slowly and mournfully to remind everyone of why they are the Rebels, the school that produced the University Grays, a unit almost completely annihilated during the Old Confederate War.

5. Mississippi State because of Sylvester Croom, a great player and a great man.

6. Kentucky because Paul Bryant coached them to their only SEC championship and only victory over Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl, and they have been relatively quiet since then.

7. LSU because of Billy Cannon, Charlie McClendon, night games, the Bengal Tiger, and their graciousness in letting Alabama win in Baton Rouge for several decades.

8. South Carolina: As Harry Truman said of Clement Atlee, "He's a modest man, and he has much to be modest about." Perhaps South Carolina is a perfect place for Steve Spurrier: a secure job until retirement, some big wins over ranked teams, and little lasting glory.

9. Arkansas because of Frank Broyles, a great coach and ambassador for college football. When I lived up in New England for a few years, he taught some Boston College fans how to speak Southern during one of his broadcasts. During one replay he noted a "seveeeah co-lliiiiishon of the headgeeah."

10. Auburn because of Shug Jordan, Pat Sullivan, Terry Beasley, and Bo Jackson. In particular, I love them because I was at Legion Field in 1984 when Bo ran the wrong way and Alabama won 17-15. They are a true nemesis, an enemy who makes you do your best.

11. Florida because Steve Spurrier put them on the map and made them brash and arrogant. The only good to come from Florida is the respect the SEC gets in interconference play.

12. Tennessee because of the color orange. Only an Ulsterman or a Dutchman could root for a team dressed so. I rank teams downward according to the percentage of orange in their uniforms.

Dishonorable Mention: Georgia Tech because they were once in the SEC, and one of their fans threw a whisky bottle which barely missed Coach Bryant's head. Of course, Coach Bryant got the last laugh two years later when he entered Grant Field with a red helmet on his own head!

Here are my links to my first post this season, including why I include college football on this blog, and to my report of attending the largest religious revival to ever occur in Tuscaloosa, that is, Nick Saban's first Alabama intrasquad football game last spring. This blog is about culture and what causes people to act the way they do, whether they are gravely serious or downright silly. Football is a window into the soul for the amateur social scientist, armchair psychologist, frustrated poet, and failed novelist.

Please feel free to post your own rankings in the comments and/or link to your own blogs.'
